TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office and Topeka Police Department Are In the running for an $82,000 Grant opportunity and want the public's input on how to use it.
The Topeka Police Department, in partnership with the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office, is applying for the 2014 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance (JAG) Grant. If awarded, this grant would provide more than $82-thousand, to be split equally between the Police Department and Sheriff’s Office.
All members of the public are invited to discuss the grant opportunity for the Topeka Police Department at a public meeting at 5:15 p.m., Monday, June 9th, in classroom A of the Law Enforcement Center, 320 S. Kansas Avenue.
