TOPEKA, KAN. – The large Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots eluded Kansas players this weekend, but three tickets sold in Kansas for Saturday’s Powerball drawing are each worth $10,000. The winning Powerball numbers for May 18 are 10-13-14-22-52 Powerball 11. The three $10,000 tickets each matched four of the first five numbers and the Powerball. One was sold in south central Kansas; the other two were purchased in northeast Kansas.
The record $590.5 million Powerball jackpot was captured by one winning ticket in Florida after several days of frenzied sales. Kansas sold $4.045 million worth of Powerball tickets for the May 18 drawing, which is about ten times what sales would typically be. Powerball sales for all lotteries totaled $1.237 billion. The jackpot returns to $40 million for Wednesday.
Three Super Kansas Cash tickets sold in Saturday’s drawing won $2,000 each by matching the first five numbers, but not the Cash Ball. Two were sold in south central Kansas and one was purchased in northeast Kansas. The winning Super Kansas Cash numbers for May 18 are 1-5-7-11-26 Cash Ball 22. No tickets matched all numbers, bumping the Super Kansas Cash jackpot for tonight to an estimated $170,000.
The $190 million Mega Millions jackpot from last Friday’s drawing will be split between two winning tickets, one each in New Jersey and Virginia. The jackpot for Tuesday returns to $12 million.
No ticket matched all numbers in Hot Lotto Saturday, and the jackpot rolled to $6.26 million. Hot Lotto jackpots are now paid in a cash lump sum and initial withholding taxes are paid by the lottery on behalf of the winner.
