But planning for the dozens of neighborhood events begins now.
Safe Streets is holding its first planning meeting for this year's activities in Shawnee County at 6:30 pm Thursday, April 17, at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library. Both veteran organizers and those interested in planning a first-time event for their neighborhood are invited to take part.
Safe Streets executive director Kristi Pankratz and event co-chair Jeff Imparato talked more about it on 13 News at 4.
