Planning Starts Now to Join National Night Out Against Crime

(13 News at 4) - In August, peple are invited to turn on the lights and participate in the National Night Out against Crime.

But planning for the dozens of neighborhood events begins now.

Safe Streets is holding its first planning meeting for this year's activities in Shawnee County at 6:30 pm Thursday, April 17, at the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library. Both veteran organizers and those interested in planning a first-time event for their neighborhood are invited to take part.

Safe Streets executive director Kristi Pankratz and event co-chair Jeff Imparato talked more about it on 13 News at 4.
