Topeka, Kan. (WIBW) - The Mission Township Fire Department has new state-of-the art equipment to help fight fires.

The fire department has two new Rosenbauer fire trucks; one arrived Saturday and the other just pulled in Tuesday!

The new trucks feature better lighting, and an integrated camera system using four cameras to show various angles from all around the trucks. The cameras will record anytime the truck is running.

Another neat feature, the "CAF" system, will use compressed air foam to better fight fires and preserve water.

"It uses an air compressor to mix with the water and the foam and it creates almost like a glorified dish soap," said Mission Township Fire Chief Forrest Walter. "And when you spray that on a product like your wall, an automobile or something, it sticks to it. You don't have all that water run off."

Fire Chief Walter says one truck is designated for structure fires, while the other one will be used for rescue services.

Walter says they are more than happy to give tours to anyone who stops by the Mission Township Fire Department.
