TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- The season of giving arrived a little early in SW Topeka.
Local families who are finding themselves short of money for the Thanksgiving season received nutritious and fresh food from members of the Town and Country Christian Church and Harvesters.
Volunteers distributed over16,000 pounds of perishable food along with 2,000 loaves of fresh bread donated by Bimbo Bakeries to over 300 families.
The food was distributed on first come first serve basis, as long as quantities last.
