TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- At least two area school districts report reaching milestones in numbers of students.
Today was the official enrollment count day.
Auburn Washburn reports topping 6,000 students for the first time this year, up 146 from last year.
While the Seaman District gained 80 students to surpass 3900 for the first time.
The numbers forced them to cut off out-of-district transfers.
The Shawnee Heights and Silver Lake Districts both were down slightly.
While Hayden High School gained 14 and Manhattan-Ogden District was up 63.
Emporia Schools are down 68 students this year and Topeka's USD 501 lost 175 students.
