(WIBW) - The Topeka and Shawnee County League of Women Voters group has an eye toward getting out the youth vote in the upcoming elections.
The organization wraps up a week of visits to area high schools Tuesday, helping register students who will turn 18 before the Nov. 6th election.
The group also is planning its next Tuesday Topics event. They'll welcome Topeka Municipal Court Judge Vic Miller in an event at noon Tuesday, Oct. 2nd at the Topeka and Shawnee Co. Public Library. Miller will discuss the pros and cons of establishing a "drug court," aimed at keeping some drug offenders out of prisons. The program is free and the public - men and women - is invited to attend.
