TOPEKA – The official Kansas agricultural trademark program, From the Land of Kansas, and four member companies will travel to New York City for the Specialty Food Association’s 59th annual Summer Fancy Foods Show June 30 through July 2, 2013.
Featured at the Kansas Pavilion, four From the Land of Kansas member companies will be among more than 2,000 exhibitors at the Summer Fancy Food Show. Not only will they promote products to more than 70,000 attendees, but also they will connect with retailers, distributors, manufacturers and other specialty food companies.
“Our mission for the From the Land of Kansas program is to identify and make available Kansas grown, raised and processed products to consumers while educating about agriculture and enhancing business opportunities for our Kansas companies,” said From the Land of Kansas Program Coordinator Becky Sullivan. “Participating in the Summer Fancy Food Show embodies all facets of the program’s purpose and is a great avenue for specialty food companies in Kansas to make national and international connections with potential buyers.”
The Fancy Food Show is a bi-annual conference of the Specialty Food Association, formerly known as the National Association for Specialty Food Trade (NASFT). The Summer Fancy Food Show is North America’s largest specialty food and beverage event. In addition to a great networking opportunity for specialty food companies, the Summer Fancy Food Show presents the most coveted honor in specialty foods, the Sofi Awards (Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation). The Sofi Awards represent the best of the best in culinary creativity across America and around the world. Original Juans, a From the Land of Kansas member, has been awarded four Silver Finalists Awards and one Gold Winner Award in past Sofi competitions.
