Volunteers will gather Saturday, May 17th for Keep America Beautiful-Topeka/ Shawnee County’s “Adopt-A-Piece-of History” day at the Topeka Cemetery, 10th & California.

We are back by popular demand at Topeka Cemetery, making this the 14th year volunteers will prepare Topeka Cemetery for Memorial Day.
Volunteers of all ages are needed to mow, trim and do general cleanup. We ask that volunteers bring mowers, rakes, and weed eaters.

Volunteers will work from 9 a.m. to noon with a light lunch to follow provided by Frito Lay and Coca-Cola, Inc. Anyone interested should contact the Keep America Beautiful – Topeka/Shawnee County office at 224-0446 or email kab@kabtopsh.org

The Topeka Cemetery was established in 1859. It is the final resting place of veterans from all eight wars, Charles Curtis, Vice President of the United States, five Kansas Governors, eighteen former mayors, pioneers, founders, leaders and citizens that built, preserved and helped shape the community we live in.
