Kansas Leaders Put On Their Sneakers For The Fight Against Cancer
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Business attire at the Statehouse was suits and sneakers.
Kansas college coaches joined the American Cancer Society Cancer action network volunteers to "Tip Off" Coaches Versus Cancer events.
The campaign spotlights cancer as a major health concern.Governor Sam Brownback was joined by Kansas State Basketball coach Bruce Weber and Emporia State Basketball coach Shaun Vandiver and football coach Garin Higgins.
Senate President Susan Wagle,talked about her fight with the disease and hzow money and awareness is helping with the fight.
Suits and Sneakers Day at the Capitol is being held in conjunction with the American Cancer Society's 10th Annual Coaches vs Cancers weekend.
Events are being held at the University of Kansas and Kansas State University.
