TOPEKA (From County GOP) -- Shawnee County Republican Chairman Bob Eckhardt says the county's Central Committee will meet Thursday, May 9th at 6:30pm. They'll elect a replacement to fill the remaining term of current Register of Deeds Marilyn Nichols, who's stepping down for personal reasons.
The convention is planned for the Topeka Library's Marvin Auditorium, at 1515 SW 10th Avenue.
Eckhardt stated Wednesday night, "This is a great opportunity for the Republican precinct committeemen and women to be involved in their community at the grass roots level."
The Shawnee County Republican Committee is currently made up of 227 precinct committee members. The men and women on the panel are elected every two years during the primary election, and perform various tasks with the party.
