Jeff Corwin Bringing His Live Animal Show to Washburn

WASHBURN UNIVERSITY -- Known as television’s most popular animal show host, Jeff Corwin will engage fans of all ages in a truly wild experience with live exotic animals as he shares his passion for wildlife. The show is Jeff Corwin: Tales from the Field at 7:00 Thursday night, February 3rd, in White Concert Hall, Garvey Fine Arts Center, Washburn University campus.

The event is open to the public and admission is at the door. Admission to attend the event is $5 or 10 canned food items. All proceeds will go to the “Can Emporia” food drive, which benefits Project Topeka.

Corwin is a devoted conservationist, Emmy Award-wining star from Animal Planet and now hosts the Food Network’s "Extreme Cuisine with Jeff Corwin."

Washburn Student Government Association, Washburn Women Venture Partners, Washburn's biology department, VPAA and the Topeka Zoo are sponsoring the event.

TV's most popular animal show host will engage fans of all ages in a truly wild experience! A devoted conservationist, Emmy Award-winning star from Animal Planet and now host of the Food Network's Extreme Cuisine, Corwin will share his passion for wildlife, introducing several of the Earth's most exotic reptiles, up close and personal. Fascinating and fun, Jeff and his live animal friends are unforgettable!
He is bringing 14 animals with him as part of his show! He will also bring audience members up on stage to interact with the animals!

They're also partnering with the Topeka Zoo and they will be setting up an exhibit before the Jeff Corwin lecture in the lobby of White Concert Hall at around 5:30pm where they will display their educational animals from the zoo and and have discount zoo passes! The show organizers are happy to have their partnership with the Friends of the Topeka Zoo, as well as the gracious support of the Washburn Women's Venture Partners, the Washburn Department of Biology and the WU Vice President of Academic Affairs office.
