JanSport Co-Founder Offers Lessons Learned Thru Scouting

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Skip Yowell laid the foundation for the skills that would help him lead an internationally successful business through his involvement with the Boy Scouts in western Kansas.

Yowell and a friend launched the outdoor gear company JanSport from a transmission shop in western Kansas with the assistance of another friend who had a sewing machine.

Yowell shared his company's story and the lessons he's learned along the way at the Jayhawk Council of Boy Scouts' Donor Breakfast Tuesday, March 19th. Before that, though, he also sat down to share his insights on 13 News at 4.
