TOPEKA – Women from around the world gathered at the statehouse Friday for a lesson on leadership and culture.
The group of 19 is composed of visitors from six different countries including Afghanistan, Pakistan and Egypt.
They met with other females involved in Kansas politics to discuss how government operates stateside.
Over the next couple of weeks, the international women will also travel to Philadelphia and Washington D.C.
Their trip to Kansas is part of a program through the University of Kansas that is funded by a grant from the U.S. State Department.
