The entrance of the current Helping Hands Humane Shelter on NW Rochester Road in Topeka
FROM HELPING HANDS -- A representative from St. David’s Episcopal Church will be at Helping Hands Humane Society for the annual Blessing of the Animals.
It'll be held this Friday, September 30th at 3:00pm.
Each animal in residence at HHHS will receive a blessing. On any one day, HHHS may have more than 300 animals in its residence with between 20 and 50 admitted per day. The public is invited to attend.
Animal shelters, such as HHHS, offer a variety of services to assist animals. Among many things, they provide a sanctuary for lost pets, protection from abuse, and health and behavior assessments. One of the most rewarding aspects of an animal shelter is finding animals new homes. Animal shelters also provide an educational outlet and guidance to assist the public with animal-related issues and concerns, from dealing with training issues to behavior issues.
How can you help HHHS? There are many ways:
* Offer a donation of needed supplies
* Spread the word about the importance of spaying and neutering
* Volunteer your time
* Adopt your next pet from among the many animals being cared for at Helping Hands.
