Building off our current successes in Shawnee County (like NOTO, Downtown Redevelopment and the Mars Chocolate Plant) Heartland Visioning wants to discover how citizens think things are going and what they think the next set of priorities are going forward. Heartland Visioning staff and volunteers are hosting community meetings throughout the county to review our shared vision and strategic plan from 2008, and collect information on what has gone well and what actions. As the community meetings conclude later this fall, the Heartland Visioning staff and Steering Committee will take the information shared and “review, revise and refocus” strategies in the current strategic plan and identify keys goals for the next several years.
