TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A 2013 Summerfest event by the Shawnee County Health Agency is planned for Thursday night, and you're invited!
Fun activities for the whole family and vendor tables are planned from 4-6 p.m. at Central Park Community Center, 1534 SW Clay.
The health agency says the event is free and open to the public. The agency's website states Summerfest is being held in honor of the 40th anniversary of the agency's Women, Infants and Children program, also known as WIC.
WIC is a nutrition program that provides nutrition and health education, healthy food, and other services to families in Shawnee County who qualify. WIC’s goal is to help keep pregnant and breastfeeding women, new moms, and kids under age five, healthy.
