Friends of the library search for books at the annual book sale.
TOPEKA LIBRARY -- Book bargain shoppers can stuff brown grocery bags (provided) full of books for just $5 a bag at the Friends of the Topeka and Shawnee County Public Library Bag Day Book Sale, this Saturday, April 23rd from 10am–4pm. This one-day sale includes both hardbound and paperback books on all topics including children’s, religion, health, large print, mystery and suspense.
“Our sale is the day before Easter this year,” said Bobbie Pfeifer, Chandler Booktique manager. “You’ll be hunting for your favorite reads on tables stacked with bargins. Bring the whole family so everyone can find something to add to the bag.”
The Easter Bunny is busy, but kids can pose with Book-a-roo, a beloved library friend. Bring the kids, and the camera!
The Bag Sale is held in Marvin Auditorium, but shoppers will also find bargins at the Chandler Booktique, a used book and gift store. The Booktique is open Monday through Thursday, 10am until 8pm, Friday 10am until 5pm, Saturday 10am until 5pm and Sunday 2pm until 5pm.
The Friends also operate an online bookstore of rare and collectible books. For online deals, log onto http://www.tscpl.org/friends.
The annual Friends Book Sale is September 16-19, at Ag Hall, Kansas Expocentre will offer even more book bargins with more than 100,000 books, movies and music items to choose from.
