TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Kansas hopes to "drive the arts forward" with a new license plate campaign.
The Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission unvieled the design Thursday. They hope to get enough of these special plates on the road to raise at least $100,000 a year to support the commission.
The plates have a $50 annual fee. They'll go into production once 500 are reserved. People can reserve a plate by filling out the form at www.kansascommerce.com/ArtsPlate.
Also at their news conference, the group confirmed that the National Endowment for the Arts awarded the commission a 5$60,800 partnership grant for the next fiscal year.
