TOPEKA -- Cold Stone Creamery in Topeka is making Veterans Day sweeter for America’s finest. The store, near Huntoon and Wanamaker, is offering free ice cream to all veterans and active duty military personnel on Friday, November 11th. Upon showing proof of their service, each current and retired military person will receive a “Like It” ice cream creation.
“This is the least we can do to show our appreciation to those who’ve served our country or are currently serving in the Armed Forces,” says Tim Clothier, local Cold Stone owner. “We think Veterans Day is a perfect time to thank those who give of themselves to ensure our freedom.”
Cold Stone Creamery began delivering The Ultimate Ice Cream Experience to Topeka at the end of 2006. The secret recipe for smooth and creamy ice cream is handcrafted fresh daily in the store, and then customized by combining a variety of mix-ins on a frozen granite store. Cold Stone Creamery currently operates in 47 states with each store independently owned. Local owners, Tim and Lynn Clothier, have been active members of the Topeka community for over 30 years.
