TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The state capitol building welcomed some special visitors Thursday.

The group of 46 international military officials came to Topeka to visit several government buidings and agencies and even had a special photo op with Gov. Sam Brownback.

The military officials are all students from Fort Leavenworth's U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. The point of their visit was to learn about our state's government and judicial system.

"We can learn in the books and can learn from the movies but the most important way to learn things is with the physical contact," said participant Capt. Bambara Hassane of Burkina Faso. "I have the opportunity to share the knowledge with the physical contact with my classmates."

In addition to Hassane's west African nation, officers hailed from countries like Austrailia, Brazil, Phillipines, and Swizterland.
