TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The first lady will receive a special treat Friday evening after speaking to Topeka Public Schools.
An employee at Topeka Unified School District requested that treats be made for Mrs. Obama during her trip to the capital city.
Since Thursday, Hazel Hill Chocolate has been hard at work piecing together a platter combining truffles, white and dark chocolate, and pecan hill apples.
"I didn't have a clear idea of what I was going to make for the first lady," said Manager Yolanda del Real-Corona. "We originally thought of making just boxes to put in a basket, but once we were told that it was going to go in her room we went with a platter just because it looks better."
Hazel Hill employees hope the platter will bring the first lady to their store during her visit.
