The 10th annual Put the Brakes of Fatalities Day is this Sunday, October 10th. On this day every year, the Turnpike Authoritiy and partners at the Department of Transportation and AAA Kansas, encourage all of us to drive as if our lives depend on it.. and they do!
The goal this Sunday and all year is to deliver mesage to the public about the major causes of highway deaths and how to avoid them. Again this year, the state committee for Put the Brakes on Fatalities will be part of a program with a 20-day safety blog to provide important traffic safety information. The Turnpike's Safety Coordinator Steve Rust will be blogging about Five Ways to Save Your Life.
Topics of other guest bloggers include seat belt safety, driver inattention, work zone safety, bicycle and pedestrian safety tips, drinking and driving, and motorcycle safety. You can read and join in on all the drivers safety blogs at www.ktoc.net.
