ALMA, Kan. (WIBW) - Agriculture producers want people to know they're doing their part to safely feed the world.

Wildcat Feeds invited the "Drive to Feed" campaign to roll into Alma Wednesday.

Tour sponsors say they aim to raise awareness of world hunger. They say the world will need 70 percent more food by the year 2050. John Budd, a sales representative for Nutri Blend, says meeting that demand will include increasing efficiencies and enhancing technology.

Despite concerns over techniques aimed at boosting production, Justin Frank, manager of Wildcat Feeds, says agricultural technology is meant to help, not hurt. He says agricultural producers work for the public and every product they bring is safe for the public to eat.

"No one cares more for the people and animals than agriculture producers," he said. "That's a fact."

Frank says an increasing population utilizing more space for living means farmers need to produce more with less space and with less stress on the environment.

The "Chew on This" presentation is sponsored nationally by Nutri Blend and Elanco.
