TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A grant to the Children's Discovery Center has museum and city officials going wild.

The Discovery Center has been selected as one of three "Going Wild at the Children's Museums" pilot site by the Association of Children's Museums.

It received a $65,000 matching grant, which will be used to expand its "Outdoor Learning Adventure" project.

Local leaders, donors and volunteers gathered Monday afternoon at the Discovery Center to celebrate and take a peek at the plans.

Outdoor Adventure opened on June 1 and has already seen 25,000 visitors since, a Discovery Center release said.

The other sites are Madison Children's Museum in Wisconsin and Hands On Children's Museum in Washington.
