TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Commissioners today also approved allocating $25,000 to extend Shunga Trail west from Fairlawn to 29th Street.
The partnership carried over prior to the merger of the city and county Parks and Rec Departments.
Previous county commissioners approved a contribution of $200,000
Knight said as the process moved forward, so has the estimated cost.
"Since that time they have got some revised estimates, the city has volunteered to up their participation by $25,000. My request is up the counties participation by $25,000," John Knight.
The city of Topeka received grant approval from the transportation enhancement program to continue the Shunga Trail expansion.
