TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Two of the four candidates in the District 2 Topeka City Council primary are working together to get voters to Heritage Hall to vote Tuesday.
TJ Brown and Martin Munoz are using a 12-passenger van to offer rides to District 2 voters. Brown says voters who are elderly, disabled or have no other way to get out to vote are welcome to call for a ride. He says they plan at least three trips, spread throughout the day.
Voters who need a ride may contact Munoz at 785-437-8161 or Brown at 785-554-1746.
Munoz, Brown, John Campos and Terry Desch will see their race narrowed to two Tuesday.
Council District 5 and Topeka Mayor also are on the ballot.
Due to an impending winter storm, Shawnee County Elections Commissioner Andrew Howell announced Monday morning that precinct locations would be consolidated to a single polling site at the Expocentre's Heritage Hall.
Statewide, Secretary of State Kris Kobach extended advance voting hours to 7 pm Monday to give more people a chance to vote early, ahead of the storm.
