TOPEKA Kan. (AP) -- About 1,800 Christmas trees are being recalled because of a potential fire hazard.

The pre-lit twinkling pine artificial trees were sold exclusively at Menards between September and November of this year.

The recalled trees have 400 champagne colored light emitting diode lights and stand seven and a half feet tall.

Menards said it has received two reports of the light strings melting, overheating or smoking. The trees were sold for around 300 dollars under the enchanted forest brand.

The model number for the recalled tree is 287-1261 and its UPC code is 741895425478
