TOPEKA -- Chili’s restaurants in Wichita, Hutchinson, Salina, Topeka and Manhattan will hold a fundraiser to benefit the United Way Tornado Disaster Fund next Tuesday, June 14th.
When diners let their server know that they wish to support the tornado relief, 10 percent of their ticket on June 14 will go to the United Way Tornado Disaster Fund to assist the victims in Joplin, Mo., and Reading, Kan. This applies to dine-in and carryout orders on June 14 only.
Three employees at the Chili’s restaurant in Pittsburg, Kansas, lived in Joplin and lost homes there in the May 22nd tornado.
The United Way Tornado Disaster Fund was set up by United Ways of Kansas to provide on-going assistance in Reading, Kansas and Joplin, Missouri. The funds will be administered by United Ways of Kansas with no administration charge; 100 percent of each gift will go to disaster recovery assistance.
