Father Uses CPR To Revive Child Pulled From Neighborhood Lake

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A 4-year-old child was responsive after a near drowning at a neighborhood lake Monday.

Emergency crews were called to 2120 Cypresswood in the Clarion Lakes development over the 4 p.m. hour. A caller told police that a small child or animal was floating in a lake.

The father found the child, according to police. The child was responsive and taken to Stormont Vail after CPR was performed. He is expected to make a full recovery.

The 4-year-old reportedly wandered off and wound up in the water.

No further details were immediately released.
