TOPEKA -- It may well have been Topeka's funniest awards luncheon ever.
The Community Resources Council named its winners of four awards Monday afternoon, through a series of movie spoofs carefully produced by Klik Video Productions. Shannon Reilly of Topeka Civic Theatre masterfully acted the lead roles in each video to name the winner.
Here's ours, with Shannon as Rhett Butler in "Gone With the WIBW."
Other videos to name the award recipients included "The Godfather: Policing Unit" for the TPD unit of the same name (Government Agency of Excellence) "Casavisioning," to honor Heartland Visioning (Non-Profit of Excellence) and the extremely funny "When Topeka Met Sally," complete with the famous restaurant scene for Sally Zellers of Safe Streets as the Topeka's Individual of Excellence (who was laughing so hard she barely made her way up to the podium.)
Thanks to CRC for the honors, congratulations to all the nominees, and to Shannon for all his diligent and hilarious work to make the awards ceremony the funniest ever!
