TOPEKA -- The 11th annual Bone Appetit will be held Saturday, June 4th from 6pm to 10pm in the Sunflower Ballroom of the Capitol Plaza Hotel. Bone Appetit is a fundraiser that benefits Helping Hands Humane Society. The evening includes dinner, dancing, cocktails and silent and wine auctions. The highlight of Bone Appetit is the Pet Parade and Live Auction. Shelter dogs present items for auction to the crowd while sporting the latest in doggy fashion. Special guests and activities are planned for this year’s event as things go a little wild in the jungle.
People may register for the event by calling HHHS at 785-233-7325 or by website www.hhhstopeka.org.
HHHS admits and cares for nearly 9,000 homeless or abandoned animals each year. Animal shelters, such as HHHS, offer a variety of services to assist animals and the public.
Among many things, they provide a sanctuary for lost pets, protection from abuse, adoption, lost/found services and health and behavior assessments. Animal shelters also provide an educational outlet and guidance to assist the public with animal-related issues and concerns, from dealing with training issues to behavior issues.
