(CBS)-- A four-legged intruder successfully broke a Washington state prison only to be tranquilized by authorities.
Officers at the Monroe Corrections Complex noticed a bobcat during a perimeter check late Monday night. The cat then ran through a razor wire fence and made its way to the roof of a building housing special offenders, reports CBS affiliate KIRO-TV.
Veterinarian Dr. Robert Hancock sedated the animal with a tranquilizer gun at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
According to the report, the cat suffered injuries to its left paw and hindquarters during its bolt through the razor wire. The animal will be treated and released from a local veterinary hospital.
