Bob Dole Released From Hospital

(CBS/WIBW) Former Kansas Senator Bob Dole is said to be doing well following a hospital stay.

The 89-year-old checked into Walter Reed Hospital in Washington Tuesday for what his assistant called a routine procedure.

He was discharged Wednesday afternoon. No further information on what the procedure was released.

The Russell native represented Kansas in the senate from 1969 to 1996, stepping down to run for President. He spent part of his time in Washington as Senate Majority Leader.
