TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Kansas men's basketball coach Bill Self visited Topeka to lend his support to abused and neglected children.
The "Speak Up for the Children" breakfast Tuesday morning benefited Shawnee County's CASA organization. CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates.
Self was the guest speaker. He told the crowd it's important children who are in foster care have advocates and are given a chance.
13's Chris Fisher emceed the event. Money raised through the breakfast will help pair children in need with advocates who can champion their rights and interests in the legal system.
