TOPEKA -- Women in Topeka got together Wednesday night for a little food, fun and a few laughs. The YWCA hosted its 13th annual Women's Night Out, sharing a meal catered by Topeka area restaurants.
After dinner, Topeka Civic Theatre's "Laughing Matters" troupe got the crowd laughing with its famed improvisation show. The ladies could also finish up some shopping, as businesses owned by women were featured in some of the vendor's booths.
All the money raised from the dinner and the auction will benefit the YWCA.
It was also announced today that the YWCA's Center for Safety and Empowerment is being awarded $40,500 for its Victims Services Program.
That funding will help shelter victims of domestic violence attacks and sexual assaults.
