TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)- Saturday night's storms caused a baby falcon to fall from a 12 story Downtown Topeka building.
Westar Energy's Brad Loveless told 13 News the Peregrine Falcon was learning to fly when the high winds caused it to fall off the 12-story Westar Building or about 160 feet around 7:00 p.m. Saturday night.
Westar Energy's security found the Peregrine Falcon named "Joule" in the street, between Quincy and Kansas Avenue. Topeka Zoo officials helped save it.
Sunday, Loveless released Joule back in the nest box at the top of the building to reunite with its family.
Westar Energy has a nest box at the top of the building which is home to three falcons.
