BURLINGTON, Kan. (WIBW) - An air conditioning unit malfunction has shut down the Wolf Creek Nuclear Generating Station.

Spokeswoman Cassandra Bailey says last Friday, one of the plant's air conditioning units automatically turned off while operating.

Plant operators found the issue was related to a faulty pressure sensor that monitors the oil pressure for the air conditioning unit.

The sensor has been replaced, crews are now performing additional maintenance activities which may take several days to complete.

Bailey says they expect the plant to be back up and running this weekend.
