Aaron Douglas Featured Art to be Unveiled on Thursday

TOPEKA -- The 2011 Aaron Douglas Art Fair Committee is pleased to announce this year’s featured artist, The Craftivists. This Topeka-based group combines their talent with a message of environmental responsibility, social justice, peace, love, and bettering the world with crafts.

Please join us at 10:30 this Thursday morning, May 19th, at the Aaron Douglas Art Park (12th & Lane) in Topeka for the unveiling of a series of The Craftivists original designs which were chosen as the featured art for the 2011 Aaron Douglas Art Fair.

The 6th Annual Aaron Douglas Art fair will be held on Saturday, September 24th from 10am to 5pm at the Aaron Douglas Art Park (12th & Lane) in Topeka. This year’s fair will feature: space for over 40 local artists exhibiting original artwork in a variety of mediums, live musical entertainment, lots of fun FREE children’s activities, affordable food and beverages sold by community NIA’s and the return of the Legacy Stage.

The 6th Annual Aaron Douglas Art Fair will showcase diverse and emerging artists from Topeka and the surrounding region. The day long fair will also feature entertainment, food and plenty of free children’s activities.
