TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A long-awaited appeal of a ruling requiring the state of Kansas to increase funding for public schools is first on the list at the Kansas Supreme Court on Tuesday.

An earlier Shawnee County District Court ruling held that spending cuts caused an,``unconstitutional eroding'' of education funding.
The appeal of that decision brought it to the state's highest court. Delaying the court's order to increase base funding for students, by more than $440 million.
