TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- An art exhibit honoring a Holocaust hero is currently on display in the Capitol Building.

The twenty panel exhibit honors Polish Diplomat Jan Karski, who informed allied forces of concentration camps in nazi-occupied Poland and urged them to save persecuted Jewish citizens.

President Obama awarded Karski the Medal of Freedom posthumously in May of 2012.

Karski died in 2000.

The exhibit is on loan from the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago, you can view it in the rotunda until October 31st.
