Nancy Perry is Honored with her own day
Washburn Band kicks off Day of Caring
Washburn Universities Marching Band was on hand to get the United Way volunteers pumped up for the United Way Day of Caring.
John Dicus of Capitol Federal, announced that all future Day of Caring events will be named in honor of Nancy Perry. Nancy is retiring as president and CEO of United Way.
Nancy Perry was given 24 roses for each year she worked for the United Way. She then released 24 balloons.
Nearly 30 companies responded to participate in the largest one-day community service event. Through out the city volunteers will be painting, landscaping, to reading to youngsters.
