John Zapletal Talks About Tragedy

Funeral services for Michael Zapletal are being held Saturday at St. John Vianney's Catholic Church in Maple Hill. Friends and family will gather to remember Michael. The service begins at 11:30 a.m.

Beginning Friday morning, crews came out in full force for one last time to find Zapletal who drowned in the Kansas River more than two weeks ago.

Two crews with dogs searched the river along with people in canoes and kayaks. Both the Kansas Highway Patrol and Topeka Police Department used helicopters to scan the river from above. Divers used advanced sonar to go over spots search dogs had hit before.

At 1:30 p.m. on Friday crews starting pulling out of the river and now the search is being left for the volunteers.
