A construction accident has left one man is dead and another critically hurt.

It happened earlier today when two larry's electric employees fell from a motorized scaffold while doing electrical work at Topeka Trailer Repair.

The men were about 30 feet in the air when the scaffold began to move -- hit a vent in the floor -- and swayed the lift.

Both men fell -- in an accident some say may have been avoidable.

One person on the scene said it was a dangerous decision -- that cost one man his life.

Sheriff Dick Barta says being careful -- and thinking situations through -- is always a good idea -- especially at the work place.

The names of the victims are being withheld until the families are notified.

The accident is still under investigation by the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office.
