Springtime Cautions to Kansas Consumers

Springtime in Kansas means many of us begin to plan to repair, renovate, or remodel our property. It may mean a new driveway, a new roof, windows, siding or other improvements.

Always be wary of the dump truck with a load of “leftover asphalt”, an unmarked truck driven by someone offering to repair or replace your roof at a “great price” or others who seem to have a deal too good to be true. Chances are it is not.

Spring is also the time of damaging storms. In that event, many out of state contractors may show up at your door attempting to take advantage of your misfortune. Always be certain they are properly licensed to do business in Kansas and will be available in the event of unplanned warranty work.

The Better Business Bureau of Kansas Incorporated is available to offer you the opportunity to check out these contractors to assure you they are in fact honest, trustworthy and reliable. All you need do is visit our website at www.kansasplains.bbb.org and enter the name of the business. If you do not have access to a computer, you are welcome to call us personally at 800 856 2417. Many times we will have a file on the business that will include all information available to us.

The Better Business Bureau of Kansas Incorporated serves the consumers and business people throughout the State of Kansas except for the Greater SMSA of Kansas City.

In any event, we suggest you consider doing business with an Accredited Business member of the Better Business Bureau and above all use a Kansas based business over those from other areas.

It is just good business to check them out before you do business.
