TOPEKA PUBLIC LIBRARY -- Open the next chapter in your cooking accomplishments by participating in our 4th annual Edible Books Festival, Friday, April 2nd. Whether competing or viewing, this event’s focus is to get people to look at books and reading in a different way, according to event organizer Brea Black.
“Edible book entries don’t have to be a cake. It can be savory or sweet as long as the materials are edible,” Black said. “Entries just have to based on the form, content or theme of a book – from puns to literally interpretations. You don’t have to be a chef to enter, just have fun.”
To reserve a space for your edible book, call the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery at 785-580-4515 by 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 1st. Entries must be brought to the library between 3 and 5:25 p.m. Friday, April 2nd.
The event, which is held during the First Friday Artwalk, will be open for viewing from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Marvin Auditorium.
