The Topeka Human Relations Commission announces the opening of nominations for the THRC Troy Scroggins Award for Outstanding Youth.
Any Topeka or Shawnee County citizen age 19 or younger that has demonstrated outstanding efforts in advancing diversity and meets the award requirements may be nominated.
Nominees must be attending or have attended a school or institute of higher education whose district is wholly or in part within the city limits of Topeka. Home-schooled students are also eligible for nomination.
Nominations are being accepted until April 2nd. THRC board members will review the nominations and the final selection will be announced at a future public meeting.
