TOPEKA -- As part of the Pepsi Refresh grant program, Topeka's Keep America Beautiful program is starting a new program called Lend A Bin.
The new Lend A Bin Program is designed for civic groups to check out and borrow portable recycling bins for their specail events. Many of our community events offer beverages in aluminum cans or plastic bottles which could easily be recycled. That simple step could save many cubic yards in our Topeka landfills. Clearstream recycle bags will be provided at no charge. Group members would need to pick up and return the bins, and transport their recyclables to the nearest recycling location.
Pepsi Cola and Shawnee County remind you recycling is very important for the future of our environment. It saves money and countless non-renewable natural resources. Over 75% of material that goes to our landfills.. could have been recycled.
For information on the Lend A Bin program, call Keep America Beautiful at 235-0845 or e-mail them at: kabtopsh@sbcglobal.net. Thank you!
