Police ID Two Who Fell from Tower

The Douglas County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that a cable failure at approximately 500-800 feet caused two men to fall to their deaths Tuesday morning. They continue to investigate why the cable failed.

The two men were working on a communication tower when the accident occurred.

They were already deceased when deputies arrived at the scene. They discovered Jerry Case, 54, of Kansas City, Mo., and Kevin Keeling, 33, of Independence, Mo. still secured in the bucket in which they worked.

Both men were employed by Structural Inspections, Inc. of Blue Springs, Mo.
