TOPEKA -- The City of Topeka is seeking qualified applications for its Historic Site for Heritage Tourism Grant Program, which pays up to 80% of project costs to restore or make significant repairs to historic buildings.
Eligible properties must be:
· Registered on the Kansas or National Registers of Historic Places, or
· A locally designated or a National Historic Landmark, or
· Recognized through the National Underground Railroad “Network to Freedom” Program, and
· Open to the public for a period of 10 years upon completion of the grant project.
Grant applications must be submitted by 4:00, the afternoon of Wednesday, March 31st, to the Topeka Planning Department, 620 SE Madison, 3rd Floor. Awards will be announced on May 1, 2010.
